The Islamic State (IS) terror group is in possession of deadly mustard gas stockpiles and could smuggle it out of Syria to target Europe, according to a media report.
The IS is behind a spate of mustard gas attacks in Syria and may have enough of the killer substance to slaughter tens of thousands, The Daily Mirror reported.
The network may have access to 20 tonnes of the evil weapon and could smuggle it out of Syria and into Europe, a leading expert in chemical warfare has warned.
“Evidence points to the IS behind the attacks and there could be more. There is evidence they used mustard gas, either stolen by IS from [Syrian President Bashar] Assad or — and this is a real game-changer — IS made it themselves,” Col (retd.) Hamish de Bretton-Gordon said.
“This is horrific and the West must act to stop IS now because the threat from them just became much greater and they could take huge areas they have not conquered before,” he told the daily.
Recipe on the ‘dark web’
He warned that ISIS could smuggle mustard gas to attack Europe after finding a recipe on the ‘dark web’ — the murky and secretive area of the Internet used by crooks.
“It is not easy to make mustard gas but it is possible and a lone wolf could get the information off the Internet and dark web. If you tried to buy the precursors in the U.K. or U.S. you would most likely be picked up,” Col. Bretton-Gordon said.
‘It is imminent’
“Could IS move mustard gas out of the Syria/Iraq theatre of war? That is the real issue I expect,” he said.
Scores have died from chemical attacks in both Syria and Iraq in recent weeks and at the weekend IS launched another suspected mustard gas attack.
Col de Bretton-Gordon, who advises NGOs throughout Syria and elsewhere in the world, said, “The West is running out of time to do something about IS. We must act now.”

A suspect was arrested and faces arson and burglary charges after investigators said he lit a pair of fires at a Las Vegas synagogue Monday evening in a possible hate crime, according to authorities.
Las Vegas Police arrested Afshin Bahrampour in a shopping center parking lot across the street from the scene of two fires set at the Chabad of Southern Nevada Desert Torah Academy at 1261 Arville Street late Monday, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.
Firefighters were called out to handle a car fire in the synagogue’s parking lot just after 8 p.m. Monday. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze, which caused significant damage to the vehicle and minor damage to two others.
While firefighters were cleaning up after the car fire, synagogue personnel told investigators they had extinguished a mysterious fire in a waste basket inside their building two hours earlier, Szymanski said.
Afshin Bahrampour has a very interesting history. He's a registered sex offender on 2 counts of sodomy. The case is likely this one in Oregon.
On December 10, 1997 at approximately 3:00 p.m., AFSHIN BAHRAMPOUR, age 28, from Sherwood, was taken into custody by officers from Sherwood and Tigard Police Departments after eluding authorities for over one year.
In 1996, a secret indictment based upon an Oregon State Police investigation was handed down by a Washington County Grand Jury charging Afshin Bahrampour with several counts of Sex Abuse involving a girl who was 13 years old at the time. Aware of the investigation, he left the address where he was living in Beaverton and moved to an unknown location. Bahrampour was known to work as a gymnastics coach at several local area gymnastics facilities where he had contact with young girls.
At about 2:45 p.m., Sherwood Police Officer G. Smith received a call from the principal of Hopkins Elementary School advising that Bahrampour had tried to enter their school and was refused entry. Officers continued to check the area, and based upon additional sightings by some public works employees, Bahrampour was found walking on Tonquin Road near Tonquin Loop in Sherwood. Officers described Bahrampour as being dirty and muddy from hiding in bushes in the area.
He was convicted and sentenced to 8 years in prison for the abuse of a 13 year old girl. And then launched an impressive array of lawsuits against everyone and everything.
He sued Oregon because they wouldn't let him have copies of Muscle Elegance magazine. (It was determined he had no Federal constitutional right to receive it in prison.) and the Joint Chiefs of Unfaith, aka America.
This matter involves Afshin Bahrampour's civil-right action against the Joint Chiefs of Unfaith, Barack Obama, N.A.S.A., the Central Intelligence Agency, the U.S. Navy, the National Security Administration, Independent Agencies, and the United States of America, among others, for reading his thoughts.
For example, Plaintiff states that "[t]he 'neural remote monitoring,' N.R.M., is audibly recognizable in the auditory cortex at 15 (hertz) and is a very mentally distressing and distractionary [sic] PRESENCE. It interrupts my prayer as a Shia Muslim."
But apparently molesting young girls and trying to start fires in synagogues does not.
Afshin Bahrampour seems to have wasted countless amounts of taxpayer money in these lawsuits and his various imprisonments. Just imagine if we had acted sanely and just sent him back where he came from.
Jack Swarez, 48, who was jailed for 17 years in 2012 for drug dealing, said that he came up with the idea after watching Sex Toy Secrets on Channel 4.
Writing in the latest edition of Inside Time, a prison magazine, he said that because they weren’t allowed conjugal visits, they should get sex dolls for good behaviour.
Swarez, who is at HMP Lowdham Grange, Nottinghamshire, said: ‘The trouble is, our prisons are full of young men filled with testosterone who would give their right arm for a bit of passion.
‘The frustration of this situation makes these young men restless and wanting to cause mischief.’
He pointed to the fact that some European countries allow conjugal visits, but it is unlikely that it would ever be accepted in the UK.
He added: ‘It might help to alleviate this ongoing problem and, in turn, help de-stress the wings of every establishment the length and breadth of our nation.
‘It came about when I was watching an documentary on Channel 4 that showed grown men who live with rubber, blow-up dolls. I noticed that all of these men looked very happy and stress-free.’
He even came up with a suggestion for their design: ‘There are companies who manufacture these doll women and if this idea is taken up, everyone who purchases one can send a photo of their loved one and have the company incorporate their features into the doll.’
On top of this, he believes they would provide companionship to inmates saying they could enjoy date nights and watch soaps together or listen to music.
Swarez, of Crosby in Merseyside, was jailed for 17 years in 2012 after Liverpool Crown Court heard how he was the ‘managing director’ of a drugs gang responsible for flooding the UK with heroin and cocaine.
Swarez pocketed £1.5m from his part in the gang, but was nabbed after cops mounted a surveillance operation – with the court hearing how cops caught the gang with nearly £4m worth of drugs.
The drugs seized included 9.25kg of heroin, 8.25kg of cocaine, 12kg of amphetamine and £37,000 in cash.
Awaiting comment from Ministry of Justice.
